10. How long does the windshield repair process take to fix the rock chip on my windshield.

A small chip on your windshield usually takes 10 to 15 minutes to repair. Slightly bigger or more difficult chips may take 20 to 30 minutes. Very long cracks, over 22 inches, can take more than 30 minutes. For these, we recommend coming on a day when you have some extra time. Our team works carefully and professionally to make sure every repair is strong and safe. If you need fast and reliable Windshield Repair, we can get your windshield fixed quickly and correctly.

11. How expensive is the windshield crack repair?

The cost of a windshield crack repair depends on how big and complicated the crack is and how long the repair will take. Usually, a full crack repair, where we fill the crack completely, costs $70 to $140. If you just want to stop the crack from spreading, the cost is $40. Even if a crack stop repair works, we still recommend a full repair. A full repair strengthens the glass, reduces sun glare, improves visibility, passes inspections, and gives the best chance that the crack will not grow. In many cases, the repair is so good that customers say, “It looks like the crack isn’t even there anymore.

12. Where can I find the tents?

When you look for a stealth windshield repair tent look for bright green tents set up across the city. Locations can be viewed in the locations tab, we generally set up at grocery stores, mall complexes and around highways or roadways with high visibility. If any of our repair locations are not open during these hours, please contact our customer service at +1 825 305 1224. We will check the issue and can even send a technician to your home for a repair.

14. What is a rock chip? Why do I get them? Is there any way to stop them?

A rock chip is a small crack or air pocket that forms between the layers of your windshield glass. It happens when a rock, pebble, or other debris hits your windshield at high speed. Even a small chip can weaken the glass, reduce visibility, and may eventually lead to needing a full windshield replacement if left untreated. There is no way to completely prevent rock chips. Some products claim to protect your windshield, but they usually do not work well. The best way to avoid chips is to drive carefully and watch for debris on the road. If a rock chip does happen, it is important to get it repaired quickly. Doing so keeps your windshield strong and safe.

15. What is a crack? Is it too late to fix it? Its far gone? We have a solution!

A windshield crack is a chip or crack in your windshield that is longer than an inch. Cracks can happen from flying rocks, sudden temperature changes, or even the pressure from closing a car door. They are dangerous because they can block your view and make the windshield weaker. It is never too late to fix a crack. Cracks can be repaired using a special resin that fills the crack. This improves visibility and stops the crack from spreading further. Fixing a windshield crack takes care and skill. The resin must be applied evenly to avoid distortions, and the windshield must be properly cleaned before the repair.

16. How do I identify chips on the windshield?

Rock hits leave two kinds of marks on a windshield. They show up as pits or chips. You can tell them apart with a quick check. A chip looks shiny. You will see a small black dot under the glass. That dot is trapped air. It means the glass took a real hit and needs quick care. A pit looks dull. It has no shine and no black dot. A pit feels rough, like a tiny scratch on the surface. Most pits don’t spread, but they weaken the glass over time.

17. How are chip repairs done? Is it as strong as my original windshield?

Rock chips show up on cars every day. They spread fast when heat or cold hits the glass. The good news is that a clean repair stops the damage and keeps the windshield strong. A trained tech starts by cleaning the chip. Then the tech pulls the air out of the broken spot. The chip opens for a moment. The tech pushes a clear resin into the break. The resin fills every tiny crack. Then the tech cures the resin with a strong UV light. The resin turns solid and locks the glass in place. The tech then smooths the top so the surface feels even. This repair stops the crack from growing. It also brings back the strength of the glass. In most cases, a good repair holds as well as the original factory seal. Many shop tests show this. For example, a 2024 industry test from a major glass supplier found that a resin-filled chip held up to 95% of the original strength after curing. But the repair only reaches full strength when a skilled tech handles the job. Poor repairs leave air inside the break. Air weakens the bond. So you should always pick a trusted team.

18. Will the repaired chip or crack be still visible after repair?

First, the tech cleans the chip. Then the tech injects a thick windshield resin into the damaged spot. The resin fills the chip and locks into the glass. After that, the tech seals the area. The seal keeps dirt out and stops the chip from spreading into a long crack. This repair brings back the strength of the windshield. In many cases, the fixed spot feels as strong as the rest of the glass. Some techs even say, “A clean, early repair gives the glass its second life.” The key is the quality of the repair. A trained tech knows how deep the chip goes, how wide it spreads, and how much resin the chip needs. A poor repair leaves weak spots. A proper repair holds firm through heat, rain, and bumps on the road.

19. What kind of warranties do you give on your repairs?

Windshield repair needs skill and care. Even then, a small risk stays. A repaired crack can spread in rare cases. The chance stays low—around 0.1% to 1%. Because of this, we do not offer a lifetime warranty on crack repairs. But we do give a lifetime warranty on all chip repairs. Keep your receipt with you. We need it to confirm your repair. Without a receipt, we cannot give warranty service. When a chip fixed by us spreads into a crack, we fix that crack for free. We never add extra or hidden charges. If we cannot stop the crack, we refund the full amount shown on your receipt.

20. Can I get the phone number to one of your Orange Tents?

You can reach our main customer care line at +1 (825) 305-1224. Call this number for any help you need. Our Orange Tents do not use separate phone numbers. Each tent runs with a mobile crew, so numbers change as techs move from site to site. If you need to speak with the tech at a specific tent, we can ask the tech for permission to share their number. We give it only if the tech agrees. This keeps their privacy safe and gives you the right contact.

21. Can you replace my windshield?

Yes, we replace windshields. Our team offers mobile windshield replacement and in-shop service. You pay for the full job because we do not work with insurance companies at this time. We replace windshields on most makes and models. You can choose aftermarket glass or original glass. Every replacement comes with a full warranty, so you stay protected. Seamus handles all our replacements. He has over 20 years of real hands-on experience. He treats each job with care and knows how to install a windshield that holds strong on rough roads and cold days.

22. What is a glass treatment?

A glass treatment coats your windshield with a thin shield. This shield keeps the glass safe from dirt, dust, rain, heat, and road grime. Our Stealth Glass Treatment gives stronger protection than basic cleaners. It forms a clear layer that helps water roll off fast. You see the road better in storms because the drops don’t stick. Drivers often say, “It feels like the rain slides away.” The coating also cuts glare from sunlight and headlights. Your windshield stays clear longer, so you clean it less. That saves time and money over the year. A good glass treatment also adds life to your windshield. It fights fine scratches and slows down chip wear.

23. How often should I apply Glass Treatments?

Stealth Glass Treatments stay strong for 3 to 4 months. The exact time depends on your weather. Heavy rain, snow, and long drives wear the coating faster. If you live in a place with a lot of rain or snow, apply the treatment every 2 to 3 months. This keeps the shield on your glass fresh and clear. If you live in a dryer area, apply it every 4 to 5 months. Check your windshield from time to time. Look for dull spots, light scratches, or areas that don’t shed water anymore. When you see these signs, it is time for a new coat. Also pay attention to visibility. If the glass holds dirt or fog more than before, refresh the treatment.

24. Do you guys provide mobile repair services?

Yes. We offer mobile windshield repair for cars, trucks, and even motorhomes. Our mobile team comes to your home, office, or any location you choose. This means you don’t have to drive to a shop or take time off your day. We use the latest tools and technology. Our techs handle all types of windshield damage, from small chips to bigger cracks. Even outside our regular operating season, we can repair your glass. We focus on quality and customer satisfaction. Your windshield gets the same care as it would in our shop.

25. Can you guys do windshield repairs while its snowing or raining?

No, we cannot repair windshields on wet glass. Moisture makes chips and cracks impossible to fix properly. Water seeps into the damage, and the repair resin cannot bond. The windshield must be dry for the repair to work. If rain or snow is expected, we reschedule your service. This ensures the repair is strong and your windshield stays safe.

26. Can I pay with my credit card?

71. How long does it take for a repaired chip or crack to settle?

Chips and cracks in windshields are common issues, and if not fixed, they can be dangerous. Luckily, windshield repair is an easy and effective solution. But how long does it take for a repaired chip or crack to settle? Typically, it doesn’t take long for a repaired chip or crack to settle. In most cases, just 5 minutes of sun exposure is enough for the repair to fully cure. However, this can vary based on the severity of the damage and external factors like temperature and humidity. It’s also important to note that even after the repair, chips and cracks might still be slightly visible on your windshield, but the integrity of your glass will be restored.

72. How do extreme temperatures and wind affect a windshield?

Extreme temperatures and wind can seriously damage your windshield. High temperatures cause the glass to expand, which can lead to cracks and chips. In contrast, cold temperatures make the glass contract, which can also result in damage. Windy conditions pose another risk. Strong winds can send small stones or debris flying at high speeds, causing cracks or chips in your windshield. To protect your windshield from these elements, it’s a good idea to apply a protective coating. This will help reduce the impact of extreme temperatures and wind, keeping your windshield in good shape for longer.

73. Are there any signs of an unsuccessful repair job on a windshield?

A successful Windshield Repair job should restore both the structural integrity and appearance of the windshield. However, there are a few signs that might indicate an unsuccessful repair. These include: 1. Visible cracks or chips still present after the repair; 2. Air bubbles on the surface of the glass; 3. Distorted view from inside the car. If you notice any of these issues after a repair, it's likely that the job was not done properly and may need to be redone.

74. How often should a windshield be inspected for chips and cracks?

Windshields should be inspected regularly for chips and cracks to prevent bigger issues later on. Early detection of any damage can help avoid safety hazards. Depending on your local climate and driving conditions, you may need to inspect your windshield more often. For instance, if you live in an area with extreme temperatures or frequent hail storms, consider inspecting your windshield once a month. If you notice any chips or cracks while driving, have them checked by a professional as soon as possible. Regular inspections are an important step in keeping your windshield in good shape.
